Look, aren't you a bit tired of being 'forced' or co-erced into thinking "inside the box" that Microsoft and it's "Trusted Partners" have created, that makes you have to become a computer technician just to do your own office files or email?
Grab a FREE Operating System for your PC that has total immunity to the "114,000 Microsoft Virus Definitions"!
http://pclinuxos.com is a LiveCDrom so it can run in the CD, boot in RAM, and has 1900 games, apps., suites!
Then, 310 more LiveCDroms are at http://livecdlist.com
All FREE! Just think, Yahoo and Hotmail run FreeBSD, Google runs Linux, as does Microsoft and MSN.
The Fortune 500 Corporations all run *BSD or GNU/Linux. Maybe you should try a FREE one!
Think "outside the box"! Or, download AVG, Spybot S&D, Adaware, CrapCleaner, and try to be your own computer technician, wasting lots of your time, and possibly, money!

AVG free - brilliant anitvirus, and the home edition is free
Zone Alarm - great firewall product, also free.
No hassles installing and configuring either of these.
FYI to remove installed programs, start -> control panel -> add/remove programs...
select what you want to remove from the list, and click remove. But if you are uninstalling other antivirus products, be prepared for some hardship, as these guys rarely leave a machine without a fight ;)
my advice would be download the two programs above, save them to your desktop, get offline, remove old antivirus (for your sake i hope its not norton), and then install new antivirus before going back online.
you'll get complaints from the products saying they need to update virus definitions, but you can just do that from the menu's once you are back connected.

It sounds like some kind of version of the Swen virus, latching directly to the registry keys and reappearing every time you restart the laptop in primary mode. Restart your laptop in secure mode (w/networking if needed)... to try this, faucet F8 once you're laptop is interior the startup tiers... then replace Malwarebytes and test back, get rid of any undesirable nasties... open your job supervisor and close down Norton thoroughly, then use the uninstall classes characteristic or the norton removing gadget to take it off. i might additionally advise downloading CCleaner, as properly. unfastened acquire and updates, and you're probable going to desire it as a manner to repair your registry blunders.

you can run this for free. but I would recomend buying antivirus. most won't remove anything. because they have to have access and control of your system.
