I do not believe that anyone knows when the end of the world will take place. Remember how many times the calendars of the world have changed. If we really knew when the world would end, we would be more inclined to do just what we felt like doing until the last days..........then, everyone could 'prepare' for death. I don't think anyone knows when that will be. I will be 63 this June, and I've lived through so MANY dates that were, supposedly, the date that the world would end..........that I cannot support any date as being the known end of the planet.

While it's true that according to the Bible no man (or woman) can know the day or the hour, I in my bones think it's sooner rather than later. All you have to do is look at the Mid-East. Parts of the Book or Revelation have already happened. The "wormwood" or dark cloud mentioned is none other than the nuclear accident in Chernobyl Rusia (then USSR ) in 1980. Chernobyl in Russian means "wormwood". The mark of the beast has already begun - in the U.S. INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) celebrities have their hands scanned when going thru Customs to speed up their proceess (since 1999). Bees are actually given a scannable "bar-code" so the apiaries can track them. Perhaps not in 2012, but soon.

No human knows when the end of the world will come. It could come tommorow. Or a mad scientist in the middle east makes a super powerful nuclear bomb. Whether christian or atheist, everyone know this order of things is going to end eventually. No one know when though.
-Dominus-
P.S. How do people in india explain that cows can't survive nuclear bombs, but roaches can? I thought in re-incarnation the cow was like sacred or something, yet the roach survives much better. It is funny how some one can think that the cow is like above all living things on earth. Getting kicked by a cow is like a God came down and blessed you.
Message to JAT: Actually JW's didn't say the end of the world was going to be in 1975, but some people were hoping for it. Just like some people hope it comes tommorow, but there is not JW info that says the end will come in 1975. I respect JW's because they are probably the only religion that changes when it realizes its mistakes, plus they preach like Jesus said.

The end of the world is definitely on June 6, 2006. (6/6/6). Sorry if you missed it. By the way, if you're a JW, the world ended back in the 70's. My world will end when the doctor says, "He bought the farm."
Meanwhile, back in reality: As soon as our measurements are refined, we will be able to better predict when the sun will do it's death-dance and vaporize the whole place. And believe me, THAT is going to happen - with or without bugles or horsemen.

Don't you think that if people could have predicted the future then we would have been able to avoid all the ugly wars, disease and evil things people do to others?
Try watching the Science channel once in a while and you will learn a lot more about when the Earth will finally be destroyed. In about 5 billion years when the Sun dies.
Try looking for facts not fiction.

There was a prediction for the end of the world in 1998 also. No one can know when it will be. Every generation thinks the end of the world is coming.

Well, I thought it was the Mayans who disappeared around our 900 AD because of a Y2K-like fear.
They just ran up the mountains and lost touch with each other.
Anyway, this is a common anthropological occurence.
No biggie.

I do not believe such nonsense, but many people do. Believing is being convince something is true without any evidence. If I meet anyone who believes this ngao si, I'll make a big bet with him and collect my winnings on 12/2/12. My friends are too intelligent to believe such gai si.
