I was a dancer many years back and I remember that playing on stage after the club was closed was one of my favorite things to do. Now I see that they've got out "pole dancing" as an exercise now. You can even take classes for $20 a peice. I was never much with the pole but I was messing around on a friend of mines the other day and I realized how much fun it was.

Anyways, now I am considering getting a pole for my house and using that as a way of exercise. Do you think this is a silly idea cause these things aren't exactly cheap and I've a bad habit of making quick decisions on things and wasting money.

Well I think if I wiggled my ample proportions around a pole I would empty a club quicker than a bomb scare!

Think about it - is it something you really enjoy? Its exercise and you have to enjoy an exercise to stick with it. Sure its expensive but so is a gym membership or something like that. Why spend 60+ dollars on a good pair of running shoes if you hate to run?

I say go for it. If you are going to use it, and enjoy dancing, then its not a waste of money at all.

I don't see nothing wrong with it. I finally found a place in my area that offers pole dancing classes just the unfortunate thing is they are on Wednesday nights - through the year, I have school on that night and in the summer, my boyfriend and I are out in his bike for 'bike night' on Wednesday nights.

Pole dancing can be great exercise (and a fine spectator sport for your mate.) If you enjoy it you may use it more than other equipment you could purchase. No exercise equipment is very good if it sits unused.

Go for it! Sounds like fun, I bet my husband would love that! Just make sure that you put it somewhere functional, so maybe when you stop using it you can decorate it with some vines or something. Make it look like part of the decor instead of just a stripper pole!!!

I have wanted to look into the stripping classes (for exercise) that they offer....sounds fun.
Put the pole in your bedroom...even if it doesn't help shed a few pounds...it will probably make your hubby happy.

I've heard that it's an excellent workout. Can't say I'd be too competent at it, but given the fact that you have past experience you could probably get the full benefits.
