If he's home at six you had better get a move on. This is a easy recipe and very tasty. Put your meat in a deep saucepan with a chopped carrot and onion then add a little water, just enough to cover the ingredients, and an oxo cube, cover and simmer for about an hour, then serve with boiled or mash potatoes.

It is stewing steak. Put it in boiling water, add onions, carrots, and then just keep it bubbling till its cooked- an hour or two should do, depends on the size of the chunks, the meat should be tender, and piping hot in the middle( test a chunk with a fork).Cooking slowly makes the meat more tender. Add gravy granules and serve with mashed potatoes, or dumplings, or you could serve with pastry, like a steak pie.
I hope he appreciates the effort, have a nice time.

you need to defrost the steak (ideally you would have done that overnight in a fridge but you can do it carefully in the microwave on defrost.
if its cut up in little bits the easiest and quickest way to do it is a stir fry - chop up some onions, peppers, mushrooms, or whatever you have. heat oil in a frying pan until is really hot then throw in the steak. cook for a couple of minutes then add the veg and cook for another couple of minutes. if you have any chinese sauces put that in for a couple of mins at the end. serve it with some rice or noodles. mmmmm...

are you sure its steak if it is chopped up, if it is frozen you are better doing it for his tea tomorrow and letting it defrost in the fridge overnight.
will taste great in a casserole all you do is quickly fry it in a very hot pan until it is browned on the outside (you have to cook it quick to seal the juices inside). Fry it with chunky onions pieces and chunky carrots, then put it in a casserole dish leaving the juices in the pan mix a little water and cornflour till it goes pastey then add half pint of water mixed with a couple of beef oxo's tablespoon of tomato puree and salt and pepper mix with the meat in the casserole dish put the lid on then put in the oven for bout 2 - 2.5 hours on 140-160 degrees

As has already been said, it's not likely to be frying steak if it's chopped up. You CAN cook beef from frozen, you've still time to make a beef casserole, or beef in red wine if you get your skates on.Look on-line for recipes if you haven't a cook book.

Cook it up in a pan with some olive oil and garlic or any seasoning you prefer and serve over rice. If you have some beef bouillon cubes add a bit of water and a cube after it is cooked and you'll have a nice gravy as well.

that's my foolproof way for pan searing/oven cooking steaks... First, merely be sure you enable the steaks set out for approximately half-hour previously cooking, to take the chilliness off - they'll cook dinner greater frivolously this type. Rub with freshly floor black pepper on the two factors. Preheat oven to 3 hundred I do mine in a pair of tablespoon or 2 of vegetable oil in a forged iron skillet - a heavy skillet works perfect, yet any will do in a pinch! warmth the oil on medium extreme warmth - you opt for it warm previously you upload the steaks. positioned the steaks in - and now it quite relies upon on how thick they are, yet generally for a million inch ones - enable them to sear on the 1st edge a good 4 minutes or so. utilising tongs (do no longer use a fork!!) turn the steaks and enable cook dinner yet another 4 minutes. If the pan is oven-information it could bypass perfect into the oven, in any different case circulate to a oven secure pan. cook dinner the steaks for merely yet another 8-10 minutes and you may desire to be good to bypass! happy ingesting!!!
