Hemorrhoids are blood vessels that happen to live around the rectum. We all have them, it's a normal part of your anatomy. We become more aware of them when they are inflammed, bleeding or prolapsed. It is hard to elevate them above the level of the heart, to facilitate venous drainage, so they tend to get inflammed in people on their feet, or rears, alot.
