Well, it worked for the woman who WROTE it! LOL
Don't be silly.....Of course it does not work. If it did, we would ALL be filthy rich.

A cunning deception to sell you on a very manipulatable part of life. Think for the best and the best will happen, or you are not thinking hard enough or even correctly enough for the best.
I am fond of the optimistic concept that the dvd/book/online membership/this&that has revived in so many people (unfortunately they felt they needed it). However, my skepticism runs deeper because this 'secret' comes across as a very egotistical idea camouflaged by 'positive outcomes'. Instead of helping others along with one's own, it promotes a greedy self-indulgence and a sudden amnesia of empathy.
Then again, maybe I'm just not thinking positive enough about this 'secret'!?

I am reading it now. Slowly. I want to absorb it all. I read the first chapter twice and have not moved on to the second yet. The secret is things that we already know. The problem is making them become a habit and part of your everyday life. I don't want to feel inspired just when reading the book and a week later return to the same way of thinking. There is nothing new in the book that i have discovered so far. I think the key is to mediate on the principles.

The Secret teaches the same thing that a bunch of people like Bob Proctor, Brian Tracy, Anthony Robbins, etc have been teaching for years. It's the law of attraction.
Positive things attract positive things. Negative things attract negative things.
Basically, if you don't put out positive vibes, you won't have good things happen to you.
I've always tried to think positively. For example, if you tell yourself that you feel horrible, you're going to feel horrible and nothing good will happen to you. But, if you tell yourself that you're great and feel great, then you will be happy and positive, therefore you will attract happy and positive people and things.
I don't think that if I tell myself everyday that I will make $100,000 dollars this year that I will though... maybe I still have too much negative thinking.
Anyways, I think the basics of what they are teaching are true. But I'm really not sure how far it can go.

it might be real to a certain extent but think about all the poor people in the world who think every day about being rich or all those people who died in new orleans who stayed positive, come on now. but the bible does say that there is power in the tounge so if u speak it, it will come. thats what the bible says. not to say that i dont trust the bible because i do........but i still havnt recieved my million dollar check.

It's just positive self-talk. You don't need a cult experience to do that.
