Wow, Kirk over Picard? . . . . I'm not sure I can talk to you anymore . . . . . ah what the hell, it's not like you said you liked Janeway better.
And I bet Kirk had at least one space STD named after him.

I watched the first Star Trek in the 60's when it first came to Australia.. I have been a "Trekkie" I s'pose ever since.. I liked all the Captains for their, I am , this is me, type of character.. I personally think that Captain Janeway of Voyager was perhaps the best to date Captain..Captain James T. Kirk was a product of the 1960's and his persona was portrayed as a typical liberated man of that time.. Just love the Mini skirts, I am a 1957 job and to me it is all part of my life.. Love and Light.. )O(

Star Trek has broken a lot of mainstream barriers over the years.
One error in your logic, though, Kirk did get Spock killed in one movie as well. Mind you, Spock was resurrected in the next one...leading to another interesting parallel.
As for Kirk, though...by modern standards he is a very strong character in morality. By standards of when the character first appeared in the late 1960s...not so much.
Perspective is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

> he laid every alien babe he encountered
Kirk was just following instructions from Starfleet to "boldly go where no man has gone before."
As far as being a moral man, I think Kirk always had good intentions, even when he broke Starfleet rules and regulations, including the Prime Directive, again and again. He wasn't motivated by greed or desire for power; he was just trying to protect his ship, fulfill his mission, and be a good Starfleet officer.

Well, he did save earth on countless occasions. As well as save countless lives, and change even more lives for the better throughout the Galaxy. So, there was bound to be a few casualties along the way. And so he scored with a few alien chicks, is that so wrong?
So, yes. He was a morally good man.

In many ways, Spock was the most moral because he operated from pure reason but occassionally let his conscience and heart provide compassionate acts, though they weren't entirely logical.
As for screwing aliens, as long as they were of age and consented it's not a moral issue.

Okay remember how he beat the Space Federation test to be a captain the only one in the history of the test to do so?
His motto was not sacrifice a few to save the many or vice a versa, it was give all to save all.

Hey! I always liked Picard....
Morally and ethically speaking, Kirk wasn't a very good leader. And I wouldn't doubt it if he caught some kind of alien STD.

as much because it pains me to declare this, Bond is greater the girls guy, yet, Bond has purely had human females. in terms of which Bond became into the bigger females guy as a subsection question, Connery hands down. I provide bonus factors to Kirk for the alien element.
