Can I strip my hair & then use home dye kits?

Question

I had a full head of bleached blonde highlights underneath it before i got brown tint put over it in October 2006.

If I get my hair stripped would I be able to use a home dye kit to dye my hair brown? I cant keep up with the cost of the retouches professionally.

yeah...just be sure to use a pre color conditioning treatment.

Leave it to the professionals! Please. I stripped my own hair before and it was absolutley awful - Like wire, I kid you not.

You are better off having the trained hairdresser stripping it AND colouring it and once its done and in sound condition you do the touch ups yourself at home (although I would never recommend dying your hair yourself.)

If you can, use a semi-permenant colour. With porous and damaged hair they tend to work the best - conditioning wise and damage.

You can but you will ruin your hair and it will most likely end up looking like chewing gum. Go to the hairdressers, the result will be minimal damage and look a lot better.

i reccomend going to the salon i worked in one and i saw some diy disasters and it cost loads to put back right again do it properly in the first place then you dont have to panic

you cannot strip your hair your self,
get it done proffesionally once, then do the retouches your self

Ya you could but it would really dry your hair out and it may fall out prematurely

go to a salon to get it done otherwise you could regret it and ruin your hair in the process.

Please be really careful, I did that and my hair went orange, would not wish that on anyone. good luck x
