I ran very fast and fell down about a week ago. Now my wounds still hurt. There is a thick pink skin gathered at the border of my wound. I went to see the doctor the doctor told me that that could leave me scars. She was new so she didnt tell me much about how to lessen the scarring, but I read in an article that I have to keep it moist using some liquid bandages instead of keeping it dry to make it heal faster and lessen the scarring. Now that my wounds are still recovering and I could still do something about it, I was wondering how true was it? Should I leave them to dry or moist? What liquid bandages are there?

use neosporin. Its an antibotic cream. Put it on the wounds so your wounds won't get infected. Also, buy Band-aids with Silver. The bandaids with silver acts as an antibotic as well. I used both on a knife cut and it healed within a few days. Now to lessen the scarring, you can use vitamin e oil or coco butter (i know there are creams out there that would lessen the scarring but I don't remember their names.)

I would go with Bandaid brand Liquid Bandage. It's wonderful and will lessen the scarring by keeping air out of the wound. With air not being able to get to the wound it will hurt less. You can shower or bathe with it on. It goes on as liquid to form a thin layer of "bandage". The only down side I've experienced is with it on my children. They tend to get dirtier and dirt does stick to the outside of the "bandage". It does it job to keep out the dirt. Once you're healed up you can easily take it off with baby oil or just let it wear off. It's wonderful stuff.
