I'm not sure, maybe he has Hyperthyroidism, and the body is hyperactive, so your metabolism increases....so you may eat more but you might lose weight in the process, It's a weird disease.
If you have possible symptoms of Hyperthyroidism, you should see your regular doctor very soon, because you can get heart failure if left untreated.

Crohn's Disease prevents weight gain due to lack of absorbtion but I don't know about Tommy Davidson having it...
