that amp is 225x2 rms at 4 ohms.

those subs are 150 rms.

i would say that amp is a little too big for those subs.

I have these subs and have done a little research before buying them. Although I don't have them installed, they will be paired with a Sony XM2002GTR which has an output of 200 watts RMS x2 at 4 ohms. I was worried because the subs are 150 vs. the amp's 200.

I contacted Pioneer and they said it should be fine. Also, I read a review that said the subs were taking all the power he threw at them, and I remember him having a huge amp. Keep in mind, if you're putting these in a sealed enclosure like I am, the subs will require more power to output the same levels as these subs in a ported enclosure.

When I finish my installation, I'll put the system to a comfortable loudness, then back off the gain a tad so I don't run a hightened risk of blowing them. Good luck!

First off, never go by MAX or PEAK as this isn't a real means of power measurement.

Those subs are only 150 watts RMS each for a total of 300 watts RMS power handling.

I can't find the RMS watts of the amp, but I'm willing to bet it's more than what the subs can handle.

I have the same subs and they are strong. I am only pushing 800watts max to them and they want more! I have a ported box right now, but I plan to put them in a sealed box soon. Turn the gain and the boost all the way down to start and adjust the listening level from there. Depending on the box that they are in, don't have them "bottom out" at a loud volume and you should be fine.
