Yes hun you seem like an awsome friend to even be considering it. Your friend needs all the encouragement and strength they can get right now. It will prob help them out a lot and make them feel less alone and embarrased about it. Make it a fun thing to do. It will always grow back. And your friend will always remember what you did for them. Good luck! I hope your friend stays strong through this.

Yup, I would. Hair grows back and there are tonnes of cute hats out there, but showing your support for something like what your BBF is going through is worth a lot more.
And I have shaved my head. It grew back pretty quickly, and the only problem was that my hair didn't have a growth pattern anymore, so I had to spend some time retraining it to grow into a path. Once it got to about an inch long, I spent a few dollars at the dollar store and got some really cute and girly clips to help train it to lie the way it should. Also make sure you have a hat for those cool/cold days.
I wouldn't worry about being teased that you look like Britney Spears. If you tell people the reason, they'll probably feel bad about teasing you. Good luck for your bestfriend!

You'd be surprised how many people would shave their heads for a lot less than that! My city just had a radio contest where whomever shaved their head bald received tickets to a sold out Justin Timberlake contest. And yes... it was 90% females. As far as I'm concerned, I'm somewhat attached to my hair. But I did just cut off 11 inches for locks of love! It's not bald, but it's the shortest I've had it since primary school!

How would shaving your head help anyone with cancer?
I've donated 2 feet of hair to Locks of Love (to be made into wigs for kids losing there hair due to chemo treatments), and I'm planning on donating more when my hair grows again, but how would going completly bald help?
I'm sorry that your bff is going thrue this. My cousin just entered remission about two weeks ago.

I recently took 13 inches off my hair and donated it to locks of love for cancer patients. That took my hair from being down the middle of my back, to just above chin level....if it had been needed to shave my head to come up with more hair to make the donation I would have done it. But, it only takes 10 inches, so I had already given an extra 3 inches. I wish more people would do it....something we take for granted (like our hair) is the greatest gift for others.

I grow my hair out and donate it to locks of love when it gets long enough.
Then I repeat the process.
I wouldn't shave it right now, as that would mean one less wig for a child with cancer.

I don't know if I would because I'm pretty attached to my hair. I also have a lot of petty people in my life who wouldn't understand if I did.
However, my friend is doing it for a charity called St. Baldrick's Day (www.stbaldricks.org).
I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I hope that she'll get better.

Yes I would if it would help, like to raise money or for a wig or something. Or if it would make my best friend feel better if someone else was bald with her.
