i'm looking for cheap informal wedding gowns in seattle area... i don't want to pay more than $280. it's not really a wedding... it's my one year anniversary that we're celebrating "wedding reception" style.

i want classy looking designs... no matronly or dowdy looking gowns (like from chadwicks). david's bridal is too much for what i want to pay.

i'm looking for destination style gowns... mermaid silhouette made of soft, willowy material.

help! event is on july 15th!

this is not a wedding reception so i don't want to spend a lot of money for it. if i can get something around $100, that would be awesome.

i'm already looking at bridesmaid gowns at www.houseofbrides.com and so far, they're the best i've seen for the price. however, if i can get cheaper gowns than that, i would definitely prefer that.

if i want to wear jeans, i would. but i don't think it will be appropriate since this event is for my husband's family and friends who weren't able to attend our wedding, hence the wedding reception style.

if anything, i would wear my wedding gown again but it's way too formal for the event. it was pouffy and has a train. this event is downscale and will be in my husband's hometown of honolulu... hence the reason why i'm going for a destination style gown.

another prob: i wear such small sizes... 0-2. it's incredibly hard to find my size... i can try and get into a 3-4 but then i probably would pay more for the alteration... and the dress design might be ruined by having to alter it that much...

check with a local department store. its prom time and they have toms of dresses out. if you dont want a wedding dress, then that would be your best bet to check out. i was just in a jc penny this weekend and they had tons of different dresses.

u could always put n add in the paper with what u just described.U could always keep checking the papers as well to see if anyone is wanting to sell there dress which a lot do.U could always go in person to some of the smaller clothing stores and talk to the owners about how much u r willing to spend cuz a lot of people in that business r willing to make a dress sometimes for less no problem it's just u need to either call a few places or go in person .In person makes it harder for them to say no but with some foot work u should have no prob finding someone that could make it for u for that price. The type of gown u want doesn't have tones of material or work to making it.It's to bad your not into sewing cuz it is an easier style n it's easy to follow sewing instruction.U also have enough time to do it on your own.U can get a manikin from a store that isn't using there's anymore.Go to a material store n find what material u want.Go through a bunch of patterns which they usually have at the material stores.Ask them what kind of stitching u need n rent a machine to do it.Believe me u will spend less then what u r willing to spend.Good luck n congrats on your anniversary.u could call a bunch of used clothing stores and ask them to call u when they get something in.Then u just take it somewhere to get it altered.

Check your local thrift stores. I see perfect wedding dresses in many consignment shops. They look brand new, no stains, no yellowing, and very inexpensive. You will need to hunt around to find the perfect dress, but I see them all over the place. If you find one that you really like that is not a perfect fit, take it to a local tailoring place, they will customize it to fit you. Good luck.

Check places like craigslist first and thrift stores. I found mine for FREE! And it was brand new.
Just make sure to list your size, and description of what you're looking for.
