i just want 2 know becuse ill be buying a new computer with xp and i got the vista software but i already installed it on my old pc

You can install it as often as you like, but you can only activate it on one PC. After you install, you have 30 days to activate Vista. When you activate it, it connects to the MS server to see if the serial number is in use on another computer. If it is not, it activates on your computer. If it is, it will not activate. If you do not activate within 30 days, it will go into reduced functionality mode. It will delete your start menu and desktop icons, and allow you to do nothing but connect to the MS site to purchase a legal license. It will also shut your computer off after one hour of use.

So, you can try to install it on the new computer, but if it's been activated on the old one then it won't on the new one.

I'm not sure, but I'm going to guess once. You can always call them, though, and see if they'll allow another install.

i don't think you should install vista at all... as it is EXTREMLY unstable, even more unstable than the media center edition! this was from my cousin who works as a software designer. it could kill your coputer any moment!
