Website Design Credentials?

Question

The local community college offers courses leading to the CIW Web Site Manager (certificate). Have you heard of this and is it worth the money? They also offer the Master CIW Designer credential. Which, if any, is better?

Community colleges are generally not very expensive.
If you want to build a personal site these would get you started, but you would have to open a business and find customers to make the certificate pay for itself.
