Coal is not just used as a fuel. It is used in many products, even shampoo and skin cream. It is use to smelter steel and aluminum. As a pesticide.

It has lots of uses other than burning it.

Coal is pure Carbon and a slow burner, so it is more practical to use than wood for fires. But it also burns very "dirty" and gives off a lot of CO2.

It is excellent for heat and is compressed so that it can produce 3 times the same wood.
