obviously there was a reason to lie about it

The reason is more obvious than you may think,she fears prejudgement.
We all prejudge people at one time or another,by there appearance or in this case a job.
If say you met a stunning woman but just before your going to make a move on her your friend tells you shes a stripper.
Most men stop in there tracks and label that woman a cheap whore,yet infact she is the complete opposite and to her its a job.
I have personally met a lapdancer and spent sometime talking with her in her home.
She was really nice and never slept around which changed my perception of her,and of women in that type of job.
The lady you are concerned about fears that she will be labelled by what she does and not who she really is.
Next time you see her talk to her,and tell her that you didnt mind that she was working as a ring girl.
But you were annoyed that she lied about it,you like her (if you do)and her job has no effect on that.
She will most probably be relieved and will open up to you for not prejudging her,as most others do.
I have always told my children,'look beyond what you see ,and you will find true beauty'.
This person does'nt deserve to feel she needs to lie,but she has to so not to be prejudged.

Because it made her look like a cheap Ho...Not that she is mind you, but people judge on looks and not personality
