Ive been struggling with depession and anxiety since high school (im 26). Its gotten to the point that i cant handle it. Its affecting my life on a daily basis. I have serious escapism problems, too. Some days i think it sounds ridiculous to seek pro help, b/c i should be able to overcome this with the strength of myself.
Im finding that i cant/wont save myself and will need help. I have no health insurance and very little extra money. I was injured at work last yr and havent fully recovered. This is the source of my financial trouble and much added stress.
So where can i go in my position, who can help??

have u tried on exercising, or anything of that sort, it often helps balance out chemicals (that pose problems such as drepression, hypertension etc.), you also get a good night sleep with it. Also look into hypnosis...if u have a personal pc, valla, u cud download a p2p software to get some audio files for hypnosis and then listen to them...(they help if u belive in it), other than that job is also an issue, afterall its a major part of ur life as well...u are making money from that and it is affecting u afterall. ask urself are u workin at the place u want to...if not i've seen that usually people take on easy jobs that pay just right enough and that gives u time on the job to study (not a bad idea trust me) or a perfect job wud be a night time security job at a library, where other employees are laid back, and u can whip out books from shelves and study...learn and then go to nearby colleges and get certifications...fast, get better jobs as well... this will boost your morale as well...i think wut u need is someone to talk to...nothing is wrong with that as long as the person you talk to is discreet about the matter, helpful and really wants the best for you.

any furthur help, do talk to someone as to what precisely u look for.
hope it helps

Try your local DHHR office or health department and see if they can send you in the right direction. If that doesn't work out in a positive direction for you, then try to find your local United Way. In most locations the UNited Way has a program called Family Services where they offer counceling/Therapy services to people that are based on income. If it's determined by your councelor/therapist that you need to see a doctor to obtain medication or whatever other need you may have, they will also help you out in that department by finding you a doctor to go to that is also based on income. They are all liscenced councelors or therapists, and most have experience specialized fields, i.e., ADHD, Sexual Abuse, Bi-Polar, depression, that type of thing, if that would apply to you. They are extremely helpful in just about everyway possible. Give them a try and see what they can do.

You may want to check out Blue Cross Blue Shields. I use to think they were very expensive but I got my son into the Blue program and I was paying $122 per month. All his generic medications are free. Co-pays are very inexpensive.I need to mention my son is an asthmatic so I thought for sure I would have to pay extraordinary amount. I love the insurance thus far. You may be able to work a payment plan with them also.

Good Samaritan Ministries operate its headquarters in Beaverton, Or. They are a free ministry offered to anyone of any race, creed, religion, income. They have professional counselors who've given up secular paid counseling work to counsel those who need the help but are not able to pay professional fees. Check out their website: www.goodsamaritanministries.org

They have centers all over the US and elsewhere in other countries.

You may IM me if you want further assistance on this matter.

Go to your library and look for a book on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Its all common sense, none of it will suprise you but it will help you put things in order trust me. Depression is a circle or what is also known as a positive feedback. Depression makes you feel down, that makes you depressed etc. Talk to friends or fmaily, that doesnt cost anything. I fel all alone when I started having anxiety / depression. turned out when I told people they were very supportive and even suffered themselves.

Wishing you a speedy recovery

First see you Doctor, he is the best person to help you, he may think you need medication, and you will probably feel a lot better after that. then you have to look deep inside yourself and analyise what is it you are really worrying about. If you can afford it look in the bookshop for "Claire Weeks" books for "Self Help For Your Nerves" and "Peace From Nervous Suffering", they will be like your bible. If you cannot afford them look on ebay. They are not expensive in the books anyway. Whatever you can buy them, I do really recommend her books. Ask them at the book shop.

The position that you are in is awkward 'j deo'. Those that haven't been down your 'narrow street of cobblestown' have no realisation of the traumatic condition that you are presently exposed to.

It would appear somwhat apparent that your former life circumstances were more positive to the position that you are currently in. Please keep this within your thought pattern - you are not alone, and those of us that are not attached to the medical profession have understanding - having travelled down a similar 'street'.

Some years ago I became attached to groups that converse with those in your appalling, unpredicted position - many of whom were the victims of attempted murder, without having known the offenders. From your self-description in terms of 'state-of-mind', it is apparent that there may be similarity. That condition is the LAST thing that this person (...and I assume most others) want you to be in.

You are aware that there are many types of medications prescribed that MAY help - but won't always. A delight it was to read your referral to your 'inner strength' That possession 'j deo' is invaluable, far beyond medication! Additionally, your self-description clearly highlights the modesty within you - that combination of your personal values will enhance your recovery.

Many of us are when exposed to a position like yours are inclined (...to use the boxing adage) to 'throw the towel in' - understandably! But those that recover find an inclination to remind themselves that life may be a '12 Round' event - being in 'Round11' - there is yet a 'round' to go!

Talented David Gilmour refers to being 'Comfortably Numb'. Many in your unpredicted position are inclined (I assume) to misinterpret that expression and seek an escape route - becoming 'Uncomfortably Numb'.

Remind yourself of what YOU deserve 'j deo', and your ownership of self-determination will allow 'justice to prevail' in your future. In final metaphoric terms, that personal value of yours in terms of determination will lead you to your own 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' - enjoy your new pathway!

Check out an EA or AA meeting. There will be people there that will be able to advise you where you can go locally to seek the help you looking for.
