YES it's sad...I'm 23 y/o female and I can't afford the down payment for invisalign. It's $2500k down vs braces is only $300. I got married a year ago, we have an apartment and we're trying to save. I don't want to drain our savings. I know I'm being silly about this but it really freaks me out thinking about having braces as an adult. Yeah yeah I know there are many adults that have them but I'm so freaked out by it. Any advice. Thank you!

Think of how you will look afterwards

Everyone else had made great comments. I just turned 24 and I am getting braces at the end of the month. Wearing braces is just for a short while, but having that beautiful smile afterwards is a lifetime. There is no need to have cold feet. If you put this off, you will only wish that you would have went ahead and got them. Did you check around with other orthodontists since prices and payment plans vary? Some orthodontists offer financing through different companies like Care Credit and Capital One. I wish you the best of luck.

I would think that you should look at this as an investment in your future. You need to stop thinking yuk? But instead think Wow I am making a positive change for the better. Braces are really only temporary. And when people look at someone with braces they generally don't think EWE look at that old person with braces. When I see that I think good for them! Same as going to college at an older age. Follow your dream. And besides when in the world did 23 become old? Yes your an adult but still very young.

Stop being freaked out and do something for yourself.

Yes normal, I suppose. The main thing is that you realize no matter what happens afterward you two are committed to making it work and making it good! This mean sgood communication, no intense unnecessary arguments, if something is very heated and you guys start going to bed angry with each other you know you need to see a professional marriage counselor instead of waiting until it has withered away your relationship leading to a divorce. It doesn't matter who you marry, 9 times out of 10 the relationship will have problems, alot of problems, and unless the couple is willing to work on these issues they will just think "oh I must have not married the right person, lets get a divorce, fck trying to work on it". Then they get divorced and do the SAME crap with someone else. So anyway, congrats on your soon to be marriage, and remember this, no matter what, its not worth arguing over for extended periods of time.

Don't get cold feet. Find a way to make it work financially; don't put it off any longer. Get the traditional metal braces. Adult orthodontics is very common. No one will have anything negative to say. I was 49 when I got braces; my braces have been off for 4 months. I'm so glad I made the decision to have my teeth fixed. The longer you wait the longer you will put it off. Do it now!
