im 19 and my last wisdom tooth is growing in

this is the worst one of all becasue i can feel it trying to break through the gums and its REALLY swollen to the poin t where i have to keep my mouth kinda open to the point where my jaw is kinda uncomforable.

i asked my parents if i should go to the dentist, but they said that its nothing wrong with the tooth and that since its really swollen they cant do anything but give me pain killers, (we have tons of that but it dosent seem to help)

any ideas on what i should do?
and how long may i have to tough out this pain :(

Not to bash your parents, but I am sure they are not dentists. You may have an absese (infection) causing the pain. I would suggest that you do see a dentist. Perhaps there is no room for your tooth to come in. It could also just be pain but if you have dental insurance I would definately see your dentist for an exam they will determine if it needs to be pulled or not. I would see them, you wouldn't want and infection or impaction that could be very painful. I hope that you do infact feel better. Good luck to you!

It can sometimes take a few weeks for the wisdom tooth to fully break through.
If you have dental insurance, I'd see my dentist about it. If your insurance will cover it, he may suggest that you see an oral surgeon to get the teeth removed. This is especially true if they are growing in crooked and may potentially cause damage to your other teeth.
Mine were growing in at strange angles and I had them removed - problem solved!
Good luck!

If it is a wisdom tooth you should probably go see a dentist. The dentist would most likely pull it. A lot of times your wisdom teeth start to push all of your other teeth forword and causes a lot of pain.

You need to go to an oral surgeon and have the tooth removed, perhaps along with all your other wisdom teeth. Your body is telling you something!

Ibuprofen will help the swelling/ inflammation to go down. Please make sure not to take the ibuprofen on an empty stomach, you'll have diarrhea for days! Hope ya feel better sweetie.

See a dentist and get it taken out ASAP.

It will only affect your other teeth if you leave it.
