I recommend flourescent. It burns cooler, for energy, and also for a smaller space. I just had a new closet built and installed a 4 foot flourescent and I love it! There are no dark spaces anywhere in the closet! You can find them in any size, even screw in for existing screw-in sockets. But if you're having it wired for a new light, I definitely would have at least a 2 foot installed, depending on the size of your closet.

The development code usually reads that a non fluorescent gentle needs to be a undeniable distance from the place the garments are putting and that's 2 toes. right here. Even extra desirable then 2 toes and using 6" can recessed lighting you will decide on coated trim on them or each so often bathe sort trim. If the closet is small and the two toes rule won't artwork then fluorescent ought to be the only selection. bear in strategies a 6" can with coated trim ought to in basic terms use a 60w usual bulb that would not furnish plenty gentle so some extra furnishings may well be required. *** Code e book could examine 18" yet i take advantage of 24" as a safer guess looking on how its measured after the actuality.

Rather than running new wires, why not get a couple of those new LED tap lights? I did just that in my son and my closet and it's working out great. There are even ones that are adjustable. They run on like 3 watch batteries and last for a long time but, it does help to remember to shut them off.

As long as the light will not be really close to flammable materials, there is no worry about safest. I prefer flourecent lighting since it stays cool and is a more energy efficient way to illuminate areas. I have replaced most of the single bulbs in my house with this type and have the 4 foot fixture in my laundy room.
