Everyone should learn to cook. The best reason is self-sufficiency. Why depend on someone else to do something that is very easy to learn and extremely self satifying? Cookbooks are found everywhere and most are very easy to follow. A basic cookbook has a "helps" section to explain terminology used for preparing meals. Being able to cook also removes the problem of not liking what was cooked FOR you. After learning to cook, then you should learn to bake. These are two totally different "trades". Cooking allows you to adjust recipes to your liking without sacrificing the dish. Baking follows formulas, which if changed or omitted, will ruin the process.

Yes 70 times. I started learning how to cook for a Cub Scout award and haven't stopped 35 years later. If you want your boy to eat, either teach him to cook or plan on feeding until he finds a wife that can cook. Boys should also learn how to clean house, do laundry and sew buttons back on their own shirts. It's all part of teaching them to be self sufficient adults.

I was boy once, now I'm a pudgy old f***. I have always done the cooking in my house, mainly because I can and I like doing it. I have a couple of thoughts to males who think it's a job for the opposite gender, when there is no opposite gender around what are you going to eat? How can a man be confident and macho when he can't even feed himself. Cooking is an essential life skill, everyone who eats should have this skill developed to the level to produce his favourite foods with no problem what ever. I think that it's a very sad mistake to provide girls with training in this area and not boys, similarly, any chauvinistic attitudes that women are the cooks, needs to be reversed. But in the long run, I don't really care because I can cook and my family and I are happy.

Okay...so why the 70 words are more? Are you looking for an essay you can copy and paste into a word document, put your name on it and call it your own when you turn it into your teacher?

Yes boys should learn to cook. Thank god my boyfriend did, because I hate to cook.

In today's time, the young women in general do not cook nor do they have the desire to learn. That is the reason that many of our younger generation are getting obese living on a diet of McDonald's and other fast food laden with cholestorol, fat, and other unhealthy attributes. I don't know if it is changing of the times, lack of available time for cooking , or just plain laziness, but this trend needs to stop. It infuriates me to see a young mother feed her child a snack meal at McDonald's or the chicken place instead of opting for a healthier home cooked meal. Some fast food places have "healthy options, but that is still not good enough. I said all of that to answer your question. My answer is "YES", boys, men, girls, and women need to know how to cook. They don't need to be Class I chefs, but they need to know enough basics to get the job done. I remember when I was growing up, my Mom cooked all of our meals - we ate out maybe twice each month (yes, that is only 2 times). The rest of the time, we had healthy meals at home (which I preferred to the cafe meals). Now, the general trend has reversed - we eat out more than we dine in. Presently, we eat out about 5 times a week which is too much, but the average family now eats out more often than that! Our nutrition and health goes out the window when we allow this to happen, so, I say, let everyone know how to cook, so that they will have the choice in their lives to follow a healthier life style.

Absolutely! I have two boys (8 and 4) and they will definitely learn how to cook before they are of adult age. My boys will learn to take care of themselves because I feel that it is not the role of women to care for men, at least not in this day and age where women work just as hard as men do. Work and house are responsibilities that should be shared equally between men and women. I want my boys to understand that they must learn to care for themselves and not depend on someone else. (this is equally true for girls) So yes boys should learn to cook.

Yes, everyone, male and female, should learn to cook. It is an essential life skill. Nobody wants to be stuck eating mircowave dinners for the rest of their life. Cooking is relaxing, and your meal will taste better knowing that you created it yourself. Cooking can also be done together with your spouce or a friend. Someday, you will have to know how to prepare a meal, whether you are entertaining for a large crowd, your in-laws or parents, a friend or just for yourself. So yes, both men and women should learn to cook.

Yes most definately all boys should learn to cook. When they grow up if they've never learned to cook all they eat is take out and grow a gut. Since my son was a toddler I’ve had him in the kitchen helping me. As he gets older I’ll teach him how to cook different things. A man should not have to depend on women and take out for all their meals.

Yes, boys should learn to cook. As they grow up, they'd already be professionals. They can cook for their mothers, make 'em proud, or for their sick wives, or/and for their children when mom's not around, it'll be great. I, honestly, would pick a man who can cook over a man who is massively good-looking, and does not know how to cook, if there is such a man. Besides, I think majority of the women in the world would want to marry a man who can cook... for them at least.

Should boys learn to cook? In all the restaurants I have cooked in , less than 1% have been female. Boys and girls should have a choice, either learn to cook, or get fat and unhealthy by letting Ronald McDonald feed them.
