He was a personal advisor to the Pharoah of Egypt. He used his political appointment to directly lobby on behalf of his enslaved Hebrew brethren.
Later, he became a professional tour guide and real estate agent. In this capacity, he managed a mercenery paramilitary campaign to drive indigenous people out of Canaan, so that his clients could ex appropriate and seize valuable real estate, in order to create their own replacement state.
To effect this social engineering, he engaged in brutal and systematic ethnic cleansing, which killed many Palestinian people. For these acts, he became a hero to the Jewish people, as well as to Islamic people. Several religions were invented to justify his land acquisitions, including Judaism, Islam, and Christianity.
He was also an author, and he did the 5,000 B.C.E. book-siging tour / TV talk show tour. Reruns are available on DVD from FOX studios.

Well, let's see .... he was 'brother' to the future Pharoah, and while that wasn't something you'd put on your resume, I'm sure he profitted from it a great deal. Err, until he killed that guy in anger. Then he got 'fired'.
After that, he was a desert vagabond for a little bit, but that didn't pay well. Then he met his future wife and she had so many sisters and apparently there were so few men that his future wife's father got really excited to have him there. Either that, or secretly recognized who he was and was trying to manuever himself into more money too lol.
So Moses became a shepherd. Remember, it was when he was looking for a lost sheep that he stumbled upon the burning bush. So God gave him a new job, spokesperson. it's sort of interesting that God gave that job to a man who stutters, eh?
Once the Jews were set free, he then became the intercessor between God and His people. The people were scared of God and afraid that if He spoke directly to them, they'd die, so they set Moses up as fall-guy for them.
After leading them through the desert for 40 years, he died.
Hope that helps.

I can not recall the story correctly, but while in egypt he was placed in a high stature. Then he worked for an individual whom gave him one of his daughters in the hand of marriage on terms that he served him for a couple of years as a worker. Then he broke that covenant and had to work a while longer. After that, he was/is a messenger of allah and doing all that which HE commanded. A prophet. A savior to mankind(mainly the children of israel*pbuh* and that is what his name means in hebrew). So his job was being a prophet, servant, and intimate friend of allah. Alhumdulillah. PEACE!
