Don't you think there should be a full three lane motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow ?

The thing I like about the M8 is that it goes straight through Glasgow, you can quickly get from one side to the other. It would make a lot of sense to upgrade the existing motorway and complete the 'missing link' between Chapelhall and Coatbridge. I think this was the original plan but it never got done.

Parts should be more than 3 lanes, some parts of the M8 already have 5 lanes and at peak times almost come to a standstill.

I've never been there, but sounds like a good idea if the traffic warrants it.
