I don't want to sound patronising, but have you seen your GP and asked for help? Anti-Depressants and counseling, changing your diet and lifestyle and avoiding the sort of people who encourage the weed-taking behaviour might help. Be wary of swapping addictions, i.e.becoming addicted to something else to replace the weed. I'm trying to give up my own addictions, and have recently been given this advice: If you can do one minute without it, you can do one hour without it, you can do one day without it , you can do one week without it, and before you know it you will be doing without it for the rest of your life. My head is pounding, I want to die, I ache all over, but I've managed a whole hour and a half without a cup of tea. No, seriously, giving up caffine is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Now, if I could just stop injecting herion.......(joking). And actually, that brings me to my last piont. You could be doing things that are much worse. It's not good, but there is worse.

Ahhhh my friend I know where you are exactly, I smoked till my nervous system was in tatters then tried to give up and spend about two years trying. If you feel it's affecting your confidence now then guess what, thats going to get worse right up until the words, anxiety disorder get thrown at you by your doctor as you beg for anti depressants
So how did I give up? Well I think I hit rock bottom with it (I'm not comparing this to the struggle of and alcoholic or smack head by the way, but the addiction seems very real) and was so depressed that I guess even when I started chewing my arm for pot (at the point when you can't remember why you were trying to give up pot anyway) I was still able to focus on the positive things and how much better my life could be with out it, (Better social life, friends, to become good at meeting new people again, job interviews the list is endless).
If you let it it will probably get to the stage where you have to stop and you will, but better you give up now before it does it's damage.
I gave up for three years until I made some new freinds who were smokers and I cracked. I guess moving social circles permantly might be needed, who knows, good luck.

Boy that's a hard one. One battle after another. Cut back slowly. example: If you smoke 3 times a day cut it back to 2 1/2 times. Do this for a week then the next week 2 times a day and so on. Try to end up with a smoke after work or before bed which ever type of smoker you are. Then none the following week. Good Luck it's not easy. It's also best to have some on hand so you don't go into panic mode. But don't smoke it!! This works with any thing your trying to stop.

Lucky for you, weed is psychologically addictive; meaning it's all in your mind. Your body doesn't "crave" it like a heroin adict's body craves that drug. At least you have that going for you. It will take some will power, but it's totally possible for you to kick the habit.
Most smokers I know have a specific routine for thier smoking: they get home from work, change clothes, roll one, smoke it, eat dinner, smoke another, etc. Break up whatever routine you have. Physically go somewhere else and get out of the house at the time you usually smoke. That way, you won't be tempted to smoke.
Find other things to do...preferably in public. If you find something else to do at a friend's house who smokes...guess what's going to happen? Be out in the open - go to the park, the mall, the library, the bookstore, the music store, etc.
I hope that helps.

stop buying it, avoid people whom you used to smoke with, replace smoking weed with something else such as exercising or another hobby. It will not be easy, especially if you have been smoking heavily for several years. You can become physiologically addicted to it and it is a hard habit to break. Be strong mentally and you can do it!

You can stop smoking weed if you really want to. Alot of people do drugs and do stop with the help of NA meetings. (Narcotics Anonymous) I live in Georgia and I checked my phone book and found Narcotics Anonymous Helpline in the white pages. You can check your phone book and also if you have friends who go to NA meetings or AA meetings then just get in touch with them and have them to find out where to go for meetings.

It is very easy to do if you just started. Just quit and don't hang out with a dealer any more. Tell it to get lost. However, if you already addictive to it for awhile like cigarette then that is a big different. First, go with plan A. Then go with plan God. He is your only way out. I am not just say that. I saw and witnessed to someone else Miracles. Many times over. I wouldn't be a Christian if I don't have the faith of believe. I hope a lot addictions-maybe like you will read this. Recently, this woman came to our church for help because she addictive to crack-cocaine. It so bad that she went for help everywhere for years. At one time she got some help from some Organizer, and got recover from it. Then she got back in again and again. She get sick and tried of sale her body and beat herself up for it. We all prayed for her that day. She lost all her craving, and still drug-free today. I saw her yesterday at the church, she sit behind me. She looked very good and happy. I hope you take me seriously, because I am taking you very seriously. Only God can take you out of drug and any addiction. You couldn't do it yourself because all the temptation in this world.
