Frequency isn't the only indication of alcoholism.

The one sure way to tell if you are an alcoholic is face yourself, ask yourself, and answer yourself - honestly. I mean COMPLETE honesty. This can be one of the most difficult things you ever do.

What prompted you to ask this question? Are you worried or do you feel guilty? Have you tried to stop? If so, what happened?
Do your friends or family question you about your drinking, and are you defensive? Do you rationalize your drinking? Has it interfered in any way with your life and responsbilities? Ask yourself these and/or whatever questions are important to you.

Take a hard look at the role alcohol plays in your life. If it is out of control, then yes you may have a problem. I can't say for sure though because I am a stranger.

Be safe.

To diagnose alcoholism in a person, the following test is applied:

1 Does someone ever complain about your drinking ways?
2 Do you ever drink alone if nobody else feels like drinking with you?
3.Have you ever neglected a responsibility because of alcohol?
4.Have you ever got drunk?

Since YOU are wondering if you are, then i would say no. Not yet at least. A true Alci would not even consider the possibility before some one else brought it up. I should know, i was one for three years. I was a functioning Alci, meaning i only drank from Friday evening after work till early Sunday morning. I always left time to recoup for Monday morning. It never affected my work or my responsibilities. But i could drink two bottles of Rum and feel no affects. When i moved back too the states i simply lost interest, i may have had 2 since last Christmas. You may consider some counseling to see what the doc says.

I think the keys question is
Do u have to drink?
How do u feel if you dont drink?
How much do you drink?

Try not drinking and see how u feel, if you feel shakey and you want to drink then yes you are.
If you are drinking because you feel down to cheer yourself but do not have to have a drink then thats more depression.
Drinking 3 times a week can be bad for you so i'd try to cut it down, try not to drink at all for a week and see how you feel, if thats not possible try cutting it down to twice a week and see how that goes. Try to take up a hobby or have some nice snacks in to see if that helps when you dont drink

yes.
Anyone that drinks is an alkie. Any one that gets drunk is an alcoholic. Even if you only get drunk every four years on leap year, you're an alcoholic.
