I have headache's 4-5 days every week,we went through mri's,etc,no known cause, but my question is,can I take Ibuprofen if I'm allergic to asprin? I take way to much tylenol (9-15 tabs)everyday that I do have a headache because that's just how much until it lets up alittle and when I have 5 headaches that week, well, kind of scary, and I probably have no liver left.

Ask the doctor to prescribe you something. There are lots of non aspirin based medications that he can choose from. Just be careful and see what the addiction rate is as you do not want to become addicted to something.
If you are tense and that brings on the headaches you may want also to ask what you can take to relieve stress.
When they did that MRI, did they have a neurologist read it? If not then have the doctor refer you to one. Hope you are feeling well soon.

you may have a food allergy. they are hard to detect and one symptom is headaches. try eliminating, for one week at a time, some of the more common food allergens from your diet. start by not eating any wheat products for one week and note if your headaches lessen. next stop drinking milk for one week. then peanuts, eggs, chocolate. it could be one of many very common allergens. likely something that you now consume a lot of everyday. the process of elimination is one way to isolate which allergen it is. once you think you know which one, go ahead and re-introduce back into your diet. if the headaches return, then thats the one. wheat and gluten can be very difficult to eliminate totally, but try. lmk if you find out.

I'm slighly allergic to aspirin, and ibuprofen is the best painkiller for me.
however, dude, you should really check with another neurologist, for finding a cause.

Btw ibuprofen can also damage the liver.

It should be ok, i used to be allergic to asprin when i was a kid, eyes swelled up and went red, nowadays i just stick to basic paracetamol, seems the more tabs you take the less responsive they become!!
