I've read into string theory a little bit, so I understand what you are getting at.

I assume by planes of reality, you mean different spatial planes? (The whole idea that a cartoon drawn on a 2D bit of paper, couldn't even imagine the 3rd dimension on which we live and experience?)

However string theory will far from allow God's existence.

One of the main points of religion is that whilst they cannot explain/prove God's existence, they can claim they know how the universe came about - "God created it".

String theory is a possible way of harmonising the big and small sides of physics and if string theory can be proven, it will allow us to work out a 'grand theory of everything' and provide explanations for previously incalculable things (like the centre of blackholes and more importantly - how the universe started).

String theory would not facilitate God, it would infact go one step closer (and maybe solving it) in proving we didn't need a creator to make the universe, that we know how the biggest mysteries of the universe actually happened.

Science and religion don't usually go together because of religion's ability to be happy not knowing answers, and brushing it off as God. Science however is always questioning and improving itself. Any important development like string theory would most definitely cause further rifts.

Correct or not there is an high probability for the existence of some kind of 'God',......... it's too naive to think that Science explains the Universe (this one or others), science just describes some observations from the human being....... The engine who created the 'Big Bang' might be called 'God'. Science doesn't say anything about what happened before 'Big bang'. Some people with a sciences degree are too pretentious and stupid.

If String Theory is correct then God doesn't exist.

Science and religion don't mix. You either believe that God created everything or not.
The bible says the earth is about 6500 years old, science says 4.5 billion years old.
There are many things in the bible that contradict each other.
Science has theories about things that cannot be proved yet.
I know which I believe!

Einstein is my God

String theory is a rip-off of shaman teachings.
They can "see" everything held together by a web of light.
What we call God is probably the whole first dimension of reality. And God sends Power out and creates the other dimensions.

firecat, you are wrong. You can believe that God is the creator and still believe in all science, evolution etc. All mainline Christian churches believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, not a history book. Evangelicals believe the Bible is a history book. Catholics definitely believe that God is much more complex than the Bible says. I know scientists who believe in God and believe in String Theory.

Gods don't exist, regardless of any particular physical theory.

It's a viable concept.

More importantly God can shift between realms.

I would think that He exists outside all of our planes of reality.
