there are so many things to see in Turkey.
historical landmarks, beaches, etc etc. and you can buy whatever you want. They have everything. If you go to Istanbul to the "kapali carsi"(shops) you'll find amazing things.

Wherever you are in Turkey, there is always something to do. If you're in the bigger cities, you can go downtown and try out some of the night clubs, shops, and so much more. If you're in a small village, you might be able to find a lot of historical sites not too far from where you are staying.

I guess it depends where exactly you want to go in this vast country. It is different in Istanbul, in Anatolia or in Izmir. In any case, at the western coast there are a lot of ancient greek and roman monuments, in Istanbul the museums are very impressive (Top Kapi or Aghia Sofia). You could also go sailing, the marinas infrastructure and network is very good.
You can buy carpets (maybe they can send them at home directly), leather goods at reasonable prices and jewellery if you like it.

You could buy lokum ( Turkish Delight), carpets, Turkish Coffee, kolonya (an 80 degree alcohol with lemon for refreshening purposes, it is cool) hazelnut butter (pure, not with chocalate) I have never seen elsewhere and many other things

Why don't you buy a "lonely Planet"
