Can the desire to love and be loved also lead to God?

Can the desire for goodness also lead to God?
Men of science, like Einstein and Hoyle, who pursued the TRUTH also found God.
Can we now say that our desire to be loved, for goodness and truth lead us to God?

Well the deepest desire of all living things is to reproduce.
But humanity doesn't really fit this considering contraceptives, homosexuality, sterilization procedures, abstinence, etc...
I'd say the deepest desire of human nature is merely to obtain pleasure, because we are a weak, stupid, self-serving, and disgusting "species." Hopefully we shall overcome but I highly doubt it. Mankind is a dead-end on the evolutionary trail.

The deepest desire is to follow God. Even for atheists this is true. Here's why:

Everyone was created for the glory of God. People who don't accept God find some other thing to worship, whether they realize it or not. It could be a tv, or another person....whatever it may be, it's what their mind is constantly following. We were made for worship, and that's how we find true joy.....but here's the thing: that joy is only found in Jesus Christ!

God bless.

I am not sure what exactly you are asking. You see, the person consists of 3 things - the soul, the spirit and the body. The soul is our personality and emotions. Our body is of course, the shell that houses the soul and spirit. The soul's deepest desire is to please our flesh, while our spirit's deepest desire is to worship God.

To live. We come from an unbroken line of individuals who also wanted to live, stretching back 4 billion years or so. The ones that didn't have a deep desire to live tended not to survive.

depends...

man was made to reflect God's glory but since we have many disordered desires we often desire gutter water instead of living water
Since natural man is fallen, the natural desires focus on everything but treasuring God above all things You can call disordered desires lust.

but when someone is changed, regenerate, raised, saved.... their desires are changed to love God, love truth and be changed by it
In heaven the glory of God and the desire of man meet perfectly

Change/growth and to recover the loss of depreciation due to passage of time.

Time is a great factor of depreciation and loss. This loss can be recovered by continuous efforts and feed back, to fulfil the requirements of growth/development/evolution.

We breath to recover the loss of Oxygen in our body.
We eat to recover the loss of nutrients in our body.
We earn to keep our pocket full.
we maintain our all belongings to keep it fit.
We pray to strengthen our belief.

Any thing that is dipped into the ocean of time is continuously deprecating, needs recovery.

Holy Qur'an, Chapter Al-Aser, (#103)
"And by Al-Asr (the time). Verily! Man is in loss, Except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, And recommend one another to the truth and recommend one another to patience".

So our belief in Allah almighty and our good deeds recover the loss due to the depreciation in our Self.
