Many people claim their religion is true becuz the prophecies set by their religions have really happened. But let me explain, these prophecies have been rather vaque. Some of them goes like: Ephraim's glory will fly away like a bird. This is regarding 911. Ok, lets say, that ur prophecies are true, since many of you ppl seem to be crying n braggin about. What is da point of a prophecy that has no use. You ppl only realize its a prophecy after it happens. Thats not called prophecy, thats simply linking reality with words in a book. Anyone can link anything with anything...its jus playin with words...its like dejavu...u only get it after it happens...

You hit the nail directly on the head.

It's not "prophecy" if you can't do it _before_ the event. People who get excited about religion and the supernatural always point to "prophecies" about events that have already happened, as though that reflects some kind of supernatural magic.

The only future event they really predict is the end of the world, and their track record on that is exactly zero.

Fortunately where the Bible is concerned, very specific prophecy has happened. Trying reading the book of Matthew sometime which contains 90 different prophecies fulfill by Jesus during his life, death and resurrection.

Or look up Psalms 22 some time. It list over 25 details of events that happened during the crucifixion of Christ. He records his words, the words of his enemies, the piercing of his hands and feet, the act of crucifixion (a method of execution not yet invented at the time the psalm was written), the spear through his side, the soliders gambling for his clothes, his thristing, and more.

Bible prophecy does not exist to predict tsunamis and similar events. As there is a disaster like that somewhere in the world every year - if not every month, and every week - to list them all, the Bible would have to be hundreds of times bigger. It is not intended for the saving of men's lives. Rather the prophecies of the Bible deal with the events intended for the saving of men's soul. Its prophecies show the Savior and his work of redemption for men.

When a major event like 911 happens, people will attempt to find something in scriputre they can point to as a prophecy for it. Those prophecies are normally vague because they are not real. They are attempts to take the prophecies that apply to Christ and salvation and shoe horn them to fit minor modern events.

But when the Bible is read and applied as intended - with the prophecies pointing to the coming Messiah Jesus, then they are not "vague", but very specific and rich in detail.

Where to start? First off, I don't know where you got that "Ephraim's glory will fly away like a bird" having anything to do with 911, but you'd better check your source again. As for a prophecy having no use, which false religion exactly are you speaking of? Furthermore, your understanding of what a prophecy is leaves much to be desired. A prophecy fortells a future event. FUTURE being the key word here. Without getting into a laundry list of examples, there are many prophecies in the Old Testament fortelling the coming of Christ. Who in their right mind would deny or argue that He existed on earth? I agree with you that there have been alot of false "prophecies" given by many idiots over the millenia, but these people were found out and exposed as the fraudulent dumbasses they were all along. For example, I've been waiting for the Thule Society's prophecies to come true since the last one they made in 1967 which, by the way, never happened. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the source of all prophecy, and I can assure you that ALL of His prophecies have not only happened, but are unfolding still with more to come.

I am a Seventh-Day Adventist and our messenger is a woman called Ellen G. White. I want to share something with you that she wrote in the 1900's. It might take a few minutes to read, but I pray you will read it with an open mind. If you find the length too long, FOCUS on the section called, New York. You will find that what she says is exactly what happened to NY during 9/11.

Judgments Coming on the Cities

Terrible shocks will come upon the earth, and the lordly palaces erected at great expense will certainly become heaps of ruins.

When God's restraining hand is removed, the destroyer begins his work. Then in our cities the greatest calamities will come.

The Lord gives warnings to the inhabitants of the earth, as in the Chicago fire and the fires in Melbourne, London, and the city of New York.

The end is near and every city is to be turned upside down every way. There will be confusion in every city. Everything that can be shaken is to be shaken and we do not know what will come next. The judgments will be according to the wickedness of the people and the light of truth that they have had.

O that God's people had a sense of the impending destruction of thousands of cities, now almost given to idolatry.

The time is near when large cities will be swept away, and all should be warned of these coming judgments.

Catastrophe-proof
Buildings Will Become Ashes

I have seen the most costly structures in buildings erected and supposed to be fireproof, and just as Sodom perished in the flames of God's vengeance so will these proud structures become ashes. . . . The flattering monuments of men's greatness will be crumbled in the dust even before the last great destruction comes upon the world.

God is withdrawing His Spirit from the wicked cities, which have become as the cities of the antediluvian world and as Sodom and Gomorrah. . . . Costly mansions, marvels of architectural skill, will be destroyed without a moment's notice when the Lord sees that the owners have passed the boundaries of forgiveness. The destruction by fire of the stately buildings, supposed to be fireproof, is an illustration of how in a short time earth's architecture will lie in ruins.

Men will continue to erect expensive buildings, costing millions of money. Special attention will be called to their architectural beauty and the firmness and solidity with which they are constructed, but the Lord has instructed me that despite the unusual firmness and expensive display, these buildings will share the fate of the temple in Jerusalem.

New York City

God has not executed His wrath without mercy. His hand is stretched out still. His message must be given in Greater New York. The people must be shown how it is possible for God, by a touch of His hand, to destroy the property they have gathered together against the last great day.

I have no light in particular in regard to what is coming on New York, only that I know that one day the great buildings there will be thrown down by the turning and overturning of God's power. . . . Death will come in all places. This is why I am so anxious for our cities to be warned.

On one occasion, when in New York City, I was in the night season called upon to behold buildings rising story after story toward heaven. These buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and they were erected to glorify their owners and builders. . . .

The scene that next passed before me was an alarm of fire. Men looked at the lofty and supposedly fireproof buildings and said: "They are perfectly safe." But these buildings were consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines could do nothing to stay the destruction. The firemen were unable to operate the engines.

I am very prophetic and most of my prophecies for peopl have come true, but I don't go around annoucing it to the world. It just shows me that God knows what he is talking about, I never try to let God use me to prophecy when a person will die or what the sex of a women's child will be the tomb and the womb are Gods and after I deliver a message to a person, I tell them to make sure it came from God , by asking him about it.

coincidence is the best capital for claiming prophecies. for me, they would just make sense when, yes, lives are saved. have you ever heard of such a prophecy that glided on more gracefully and caused less damage that how it's allegedly "written"?

one significant purpose of miracles and prophesy in the Bible is to vindicate some truth, looking at something after the fact to see if of if not something is truth is all right for this

You can also see prophecies as religion-related only, therefore they predict something which is not inherent to this world.

Not all prophecies are fake. They are only fake if they were not spoken through someone by God. There are many people who claim to be prophets but are not of God. God tells us to be careful of them.

We have to test all of them.
