I have had this pain in my jaw and left ear for several months now. The pain in my ear can be so severe that I have to use heat and just lay down to get rid of it.
I have had sinusitus 3 times this year and my GP has switched me from zyrtec to claritan. I had pneumonia last month and the tightness in my chest has not seemed to go away since then.
My GP keeps telling me that he can find nothing wrong with the left ear but I know there is something wrong as the ear seems to feel like it is full and is draining alot of ear wax.
I don't smoke so I know that is not a factor.

You know believe it or not it may not be your ear that is infected you may need to go to the dentist my grand pa had some teeth trouble but all along he thought it was his ears i know you can use just a cap full of peroxide and let it bubble and after its done drain your ear also ear candles can help as well and can be found at your local health food store but i would make a dentist appointment just to be on the safe side

Ear pain? I don't know, go see a different doctor if your doc is ignoring you.

The tightness in your chest may be caused from the Claritan. Try skipping a day to see if your lungs feel better, than take the pill the next day to see if the symptoms come back.

After 3 years I had a reaction to Zytec and my doc thought I had bronchitis. Ended up I can't use most allergy medicines anymore as they cause upper respitory problems. I know use plain old sudafed. Just a thought. Make sure you tell your doc if the symptoms reappear when you start taking Claritan again, he needs to know.

Good luck

One of the symptoms I had of TMJ syndrome was pain in my left ear. Before I knew that I had TMJ syndrome I was getting treated for other issues with my ear by the Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist but the medicines were not working. So I went and got another opinion from another Ear, Nose, and Throat dr who then told me that it was my jaw. I went to an oral surgeon who confirmed that it was and he put me on some meds to clear up the inflammation as well as a night guard to wear while I was sleeping.

Ask your GP if he would be willing to send you to an ENT and then an oral surgeon if the ENT can't find anything to see if TMJ syndrome could be your problem.

I think I'd go to a specialist, like a ear, nose and throat guy. He'll know for sure what's the matter with you. Seven months is a long time to put up with such a condition. Wish you luck!

You have a swollen gland. It will heal itself eventually. I've had the same thing a couple times. Try drinking some hot drinks such as tea.

you need to see an ear, nose, and throat specialist
it sounds like you have alot of fluid build up behind your eardrum and with the sinus problem makes it worse he can best determine what can be done to alleviate the problem.
