Hi, I'm glad you are concerned, and you have every right to be. I'll tell you what, please book with a Dermatologist or an Oncologist. You may want to do this. Alright. Check if the colors is the same as your normal skin. If its red to blackish or anything unusual.
It could be Cancer. This topic I'm not too sure about however please hook up with the doctors I listed for you. This could be very serious. How long have you had this. There are many possibles. First of all yes it can be a gland.

A) Wart-> not common but possible.
B) Calcium buildup--> depends on location.
C) Cancer-> depends on the color, texture and if it has gotten larger by the days to weeks or even months.
D)Gland infection---> you say it moves...
Hmmm... I think this can be just a salivary gland.
But then again please visit a Dermatologist and a Oncologist.
This is not natural to the best of my knowledge.
I have gotten a Plantar wart on my foot before, and believe it was painful...however you say something is moving right...so rule that out too.
Also when you have a Cold your glands do get swollen.
However if you are really concerned please visit a Dermatologist or a Oncologist. I hope you feel better! :)

Yes you should be worried this could be a thyroid gland problem, I am not a doctor but once a nurse but you still should have this checked out this is really not the place to be asking a question like this as you did not give real specifics of this problem or very descriptive. Good Luck, hope you feel well soon

Don't worry, I have the same thing. Because you've had a cold, it's most likely just a blocked gland. I've had it for years and my little boy has one too after he had a cold. I don't think they go away either. It's nothing to worry about but still worth getting checked out, so you're not wasting your doctor's time

The glands are just under your jawline, sort of near your ear - it might be something reacting to your cold - however you have done the absolute right thing and booked an appointment with your dr - keep a close eye on it till then and good luck xx

It could be almost anything from a goiter (thyroid problem) to granuloma (benign small tumor) to lymphoma.

My sister had a lump the size of a golf ball on one side of her neck and the doctors were sure it was lymphoma. They biopsied it and even took a look into her stomach (because I guess it goes there and she had some wierd stomach problems before that, where her stomach muscles twisted into a knot at the base and they had to surgically untwist them).

just prayed really hard, because I didn't want to see her go thru cancer and chemo like I did. So anyway they didn't find lymphoma and they were scratching their heads as to what it was.

Two weeks later it went away.I kidded her that it was from golfing too much...that she grew a golf ball in her neck. I told her "For God's sake give up bowling before you grow a bowling ball.".....

She is fine now. (She still golfs and bowls, even though I told her those are hobbies for old people.)

They don't know what it was. Just pray for everything to be alright.

I get those little lumps in my neck when I am stressed real bad or sick. Probably glands swollen. My Dr. has checked them out and said that was it. Went away when I got some rest.

I had the same thing a couple of years ago. The doctor referred me to a specialist to have it checked out. I had to have a biopsy but thankfully it turned out to be just a swollen lymph node. If you've got a cold it's probably causing your glands to swell up but please get it checked out to put your mind at rest. Good luck.

I've had that and it turned out to be a little cyst .. (now according to how neat of an eater you are... well could it be a pea? lol). I went to my ear doctor who is also a qualified plastic surgeon and he removed it and its completely gone and you can't tell there was any problem. So please remain calm.
PS: I went to have mine checked out because I thought it grew a little and I didn't want to have big problems when little ones can be fixed quickly.

Sounds like a lymph node, nothing to worry about if it is.
I had one at the base of my neck a few years ago, it just came one day as went a few weeks later.
