Hi, Good question... A Palm tree is more of the unusual plants around in our Earth. Yes they absolutely do. When the temp. gets too cold...the leaves start to fall off, ultimately leading to the death of the plant. The way to prevent this is for example take the Countries in the Gulf. In Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and Oman, they wrap their Palm trees with a special brown cloth. This keeps the leaves warm. I learned this during my time in botany class.

Yes. They are so large though that someone usually picks them up and puts them out of the way. There are many types of palm, and some retain their old leaves longer than others.

Yes -- they dry out and drop off. Or occasionally they grow too heavy for the tree to hold onto them.

yes i sometimes have to pick them up after a windy day if not have to cut them off
