What is the most evil religious organization over the past 2000 years? Please provide your reasons/proof.
To be a legitimate answer, the criteria for qualifying as evil for this question an organization must:
- have killed more people than any other religion; and/or
-corrupted the minds of more people than any other religion; and/or
-destroyed more human culture/societies/knowledge than any other religion; and/or
- had more evil leaders over the longest period than any other religion.

The most evil religion would have to be Catholicism. Not just because they killed people for not converting, but for the fact that they still kill people. Their law says if a person says the cookie that they give you isn't God himself, just a representation then they can kill you. There is more info on this website.

No religion is evil. All the religions teach the same principles of love, truthfullness, honesty and so on. No religion teaches to kill people following another religion. Its just we, human beings have started killing each other.
Just because of evil leaders, u cant say that the religon is evil. In that case, we cannot say about Christianity beause the two World Wars took place between the followers of Christianity.

the choice of 2000 years is a definite tipoff to a bias in the question
additionally ones view of corruption is probably dependent on wether they believe in the rightness or wrongness of the religious view.
personally I would think communism would be a contender for most evil. Evil defined by Jeremiah the prophet as not giving glory back to God and also communism and other forms of humanistic socialism caused more deaths in the 20th century than anything else

That's quite a subjective question,and I can anticipate the answers that will inevitably be given.
Just to state a few things:
The Inquistion,that killed around 5000,also targeted non-Catholic Christians.
The Crusaders also sacked the Eastern Orthodox cities,and the Eastern Orthodox protected the Jews in the siege of Jerusalem.
Roman Catholics also protested against the exploitation of indigenous groups in the Americas.

A legitimate answer has to be christianity, Pls do not critisize me, i know with FACTS that only christianity fits your above criteria...
But, you cannot judge a religion by individuals. When the jews killed jesus, as christians claim, god didnt destroy the religion of jew. God understands. Same applies to hitler and osama. In the sense, every religion is evil becuz its hasnt produced perfect humans, of course besides the founder him/her self. Now whichever religion you belong to, you have made your religion an evil one in your definition by asking this question.

I think that damn near everyone that is practiced today has lead us into what this world has become,and it is a living hell.But some people have never lived my life and had to struggle and survive through war and prison and living on the streets.Without these religions what would we kill each other for though.Oil perhaps,or food.I am not going to name any certain sect because of all the cry babies on this site but you should know who stands for what they think is correct.Just a survivors opinion!

..."religion"...? or do you mean "cult"...? Religion is mans attempt to reach God... He knew "we" couldn't do that so He send His Son down to us... There are many "cults"...not all bent on "killing" but to capture your mind and spirit to aid in "their" agenda... i.e. Scientology, LDS, Jehovah Witnesses, all "twist" Gods Word just a little to fit "their profits" point of view... Religion is fraught with imperfect people, trying to serve a perfect God... so under the banner of forgiveness try to understand that... not justifying it, just understand it... By the way... what "religion" is God anyhow...? I know by His Word He says that the Hebrew Tribes are His favorite, the Jews... but I'd better not say that to loud... I might offend some "other religion"...ummm ? ...all have fallen short of the Glory of God... that's why "we" needed a Savior... it's in The Book... great reading... evil will be "out there"... look for the love... let the evil war with itself...

There is no religion on Earth currently that advocates the killing of others, the true teachings of the religions are only peace, love and harmony.
