Wow...I don't think of any of those possibilities. I mean either way both male and female are going to be nervous. No matter how bold you are, you will be a little anxious even if its a slight moment. It's like those awkward conversations that you have with your friends, and there's a long awkward pause lol. The worst they can do is say no or Heck No, i'm not ready. Actually now that i think about it... LOL P.S. Maybe I could be wrong I'm only a teen, and I don't really have much knowledge of situations like these. I mean if the guy like never asks you, somebody has to make the moves.

go for something like this.
at the right romantic moment (e.g trip to somewhere romantic and ur alone)
hold her hand, and tell her what you love about her. (e.g the way she smiles or the way she always does something (say somethng with a tiny touch of humor here)
tell her your feelings that u have at that exact moment (e.g. how nervous u are around her cause you love her so much yet u want to be like that forever)
then ask the all important phrase 'will you marry me'.
ta da! not necessarily these exact words in my examples but along the same lines. adapt to your own situation.
