New Yorkers just have attitude problems. They think they are better than the rest of the country. But you know what you are not. You are not better, you are not worse. This is one country. Some parts of the country have nicer accents. Some parts of the country have more beautiful scenery. Some states have better schools. Some states have worse schools. Some states are bigger. Some states are smaller. Some states vote Democrat. Some states vote Republican. Sorry just being from New York does not make you better.

Your question is elitist based on your statement that you believe you are better. Elitism amounts to a self induced superiority complex. It is never based on actual fact, but rather self delusion. I like New York City as a place to visit and had no issue with the people. However, they are no better or worse than anyone else in the country. Attempts to label in such ways are divisive and self destructive. We are all good Americans and we all have our good and bad points. In short, get over yourself.

I wouldn't call being self-centered, obnoxious and annoying better!

I lived in Manhattan for a year and man oh man, people there refuse to use common sense, like when the lights about to turn red, get out of the intersection!

No. When you have to slide into your door so no one can see your things [and thus steal them later], when you can't go three blocks because your not part of that "block", when the kids are not being taught in school only held there you have a problem.

New York, it has a Problem

New York is the same as any city in the country its just bigger, everything is relative,I think you just trying to compensate for a shortcoming of yours by glorifying the place you come from.

How can they be better? Half of them are foreigners. They are known for their rudeness; I speak from experience. Its a ratrace in the city. Those outside the city are okay.
