Shouldn't you be saying Karachi, Scotty?

It's the Pakis you have there in England, mate; not the Arabs!

And, Nutsters given very good reasons why the Pakis are moving into England!

Wonder if you can deport that Paki kid - Punter, who's a real pain!

Cheers!

Well Muslims don't HAVE to visit Mecca once in their life. They should do it if they can afford to after completing all their liabilities and all their debts. Its really sad to see that many people here just make a joke out of religion but would it be nice if this was done to thier religion whatever it may be. Living close to this sacred place is really a fortune for some but every person has reasons they have to shift to another land. As far as UK is concerned UK was also founded by someone as a land. Adam and Eve were not born in UK or were they? Then why did British land there?

it is so important to us cause our beloved prophet's grave is there, and the first mosque in Islam also there, we don't have to live there nor visit always. we visit Kaaba (the place in Mecca) only if we can afford that trip (once alive is enough if we can).

and the other part of your question why we move to UK or other countries; not only Muslims who do this, I think every religion Cu's that's human nature to look always for better life, the place where i live (Dubai) 100% Muslim city but you can find hundreds of Christians, same or more Hindo, and other religion, there are here for the same reasons, and not only Muslims move to your country I believe people from all religion move there.

last thing to say, we are young people and educated we can we stop this hatred thing and live together; forget the past.

our religion is a peaceful religion, i agree some terrorists were Muslims but also some are Christians and Jews or others, that doesn't really make the religion bad or terror

Hi,

yes mecca is extremely sacred to Muslims. and yes it is a site among many for the great pilgrimage (Hajj) that Muslims have to make at least once providing they have the means to do this.

It is not necessary that it's sacredness means you HAVE to be living in it or close to it. This is a personal choice, wherever you can have a means of income to feed yourself and your family will you settle. Also the kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not allow any one willy nilly to live and work close to it. it's just like any other country with laws and regulations.

Just because someone lives far away doesn't imply that they are weak in their faith or don't have love for these holy sites. It's all about working and living where you can basically.

The reason people are talking to you about Christianity is that your question is quite open and could be used for the Jews, and Christians too. i mean wouldn't they also like to live closer to a sacred city because it means so much to them religiously?

Christians dont have to go to jurusalem. they are not told that they must visit jurusalem in their lives. Muslims must visit Mecca at least once in their lives.
I however can go where I want when I want and not worry about anything as I am a non believer in any God that allows so many to live in misery.
The one thing that amazes me is why Muslims want to live in non-muslim countries, yes because of state benefits but they will be changed in these countries and there beliefs will be weakend not strengthened. They may believe it will be to convert others to their beliefs (such as the christians have done in the past) but that is part of the controll religions put on pwople. We teach you the way, this is the ay and the only way, everything else is rubbish so dont listen to it just stick to the way we have taught you and try to teach it to anyone else you meet. But dont listen to what they teach you as our way is the only way and if you turn from it God will kill you. Or we will carry out Gods will and kill you for him..

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Islam is a missionary religion just like chistrianity. One of the most important aspect of being a muslim is to spread the word of Islam.

If all muslims gather and settle in the holy land, how will a man in say Austrailia know about Islam. Allah encourages mulims to travel in seek of knowledge and to share knowledge

Just because Makkah is a sacred place for Muslims doesn't mean they must stay and live there for the rest of their lives, didn't God create the world and Muslims regard all of God's creation as sacred so why can't they live anywhere else. The Qur'an says Allah is closer to you than your jugular vein so why must Muslims move to Saudi Arabia to be close to him?

No, Muslims don't have to live in Mecca. As human beings don't they have the right to live anywhere? Why should Muslims live in Mecca? Only financially and psychically able Muslims are supposed to make the trip.
I'm a Muslim and I want to live in Germany. Why should I have to live in Mecca? I love Germany and it's the country where I want to raise my children (when I have them) in.

Do you want the 1 billion in Mecca? Is it that big?? Or you just want all Muslims out of the UK? Just say it: I hate you Muslims, get out of my country.

May Peace Mercy and Blessings of Allah(swt) be on all of you.

well if you are trying to accomodate all the muslims(more than a Billion and increasing with the rate of 257% as compare to any other religion,(source"Plain truth magazine and BBC programe"who is afraid of Islam?"and there are plenty more) near mecca than your question and argument is very illogical.

you are right in saying that Mecca is very sacred to Muslims and they have to face "Kaaba" while offering salah(prayer).and along with all the other principles of Islam this principle also has a bulk of logic behind it .let us analise the logic behind it .

Kaaba is the Qibla i.e. the direction Muslims face during their prayers. It is
important to note that though Muslims face the Kaaba during prayers, they do
not worship the Kaaba. Muslims worship and bow to none but Allah.
It is mentioned in Surah Baqarah:
“We see the turning of thy face (for guidance) to the heavens: now shall We turn thee to a Qiblah that shall please thee. Turn then thy face in the direction of the Sacred Mosque:wherever ye are, turn your faces in that
direction.” [Al-Qur’an 2:144]

1. Islam believes in fostering unity

For instance, if Muslims want to offer Salaah (Prayer), it is possible that some may wish to face north, while some may wish to face south. In order to unite Muslims in their worship of the One True God, Muslims, wherever they may be,
are asked to face in only one direction i.e. towards the Kaaba.
If some Muslims live towards the west of the Kaaba they face the east. Similarly if they live towards the east of the Kaaba they face the west.

2. Kaaba is at the Centre of the World Map

The Muslims were the first people to draw the map of the world. They drew the map with the south facing upwards and north downwards. The Kaaba was at the centre. Later, western cartographers drew the map upside down with the
north facing upwards and south downwards. Yet,Alhamdullilah the Kaaba is at the centre of the world map.

3. Tawaf around Kaaba for indicating one God

When the Muslims go to Masjid-e-Haram in Makkah, they perform tawaf or circumambulation round the Kaaba. This act symbolizes the belief and worship of One God, since, just as every circle has one centre, so also there is only one
Allah (swt) worthy of worship.

4. Hadith of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)
Regarding the black stone, hajr-e-aswad,

there is a hadith (tradition), attributed
to the illustrious companion of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), Umar (may Allah
be pleased with him).
According to Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, book of Hajj, chapter 56, H.No. 675.

Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (pbuh) touching (and
kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you”.

5. People stood on Kaaba and gave the adhaan

At the time of the Prophet, people even stood on the Kaaba and gave the ‘adhaan’ or the call to prayer. One may ask those who allege that Muslims worship the Kaaba; which idol worshipper stands on the idol he worships?

Hope this clearifies why Muslims face Kaaba while praying.

May Peace Mercy and Blessings of Allah(swt) be on all of you.
