Thanks again everyone. He's now at my house, watching ESPN, whining about the NCAA basketball tournament, so I think he's good. That and the 5 hour nap he got really helped..

It was getting scary there for a bit.. I've never seen a panic attack..

Give hebal tea, calomine is best for nerves. Talk calmly and soothingly -- avoid the subject that's the cause -- unless he brings it up. Have him lie down on a soft carpet and take off shirt, give gentle back rub. As soon as the doctor's office opens get him in. Go with and tell doctor what you observed, this will help the doctor diagnos him! he will then probably prescribe Clonazepam for panic/anxiety attacks -- not to take unless attack comes on. But some will RX for continuous doseage. Persoanally I'd only take if an attack occurs as the med works fast!
I'd talk him into getting Psycological help, it is not a stigma, it is no different than treating a broken arm. The mind is very fragile and can be hurt or 'broken' quite easily, so get help just like if any other body part was hurt or sick! It must be treated. Your phonebook will list several places to get help and at reduced rates or free depending on income.
But get to doctor this morning -- see if he has a family doctor ---- his family doctor, by law, must keep it confidential .

If he is having the attack now, ask him to relax, he can do a breathing ex.- slow breathing, like blowing out a candle. Reassure him that he is " not going crazy", etc. It should be gone in a hour or so. If it occurs again, ask him to see a doctor, there are medical treatments for it. Good luck!

try and lay him/her down. Give them a cool compress. Drink some fluids and try and talk to them calmly. try and get them to see a doctor as soon as possible.
