should never rush him into doing it.. when he is ready im sure he will do.. give him subtle hints about marriage to give him a little push in the right direction.. or maybe if u have already discussed with him about marriage and he seems to be responding positively towards it why not surprise him and propose to him first.. doesnt always have to be the guy to propose..

Have you discussed marriage? Do you know how he feels about it?
Something rubs me the wrong way about the phrasing... "get him to..." It sort of implies force, and if you have to force something like that, does that bode well for the future of your relationship?
Discuss it with him, and get on the same page. Then, it is all a matter of timing (on his part.)
Or... we are a progressive society with progressive ideas and views. Have you considered proposing to him? You certainly wouldn't be the first to do such a thing.
Just an idea.

You don't wanna push him into something like that or he will end up resenting you. What you can do to make sure you keep him is show him how fun life can be with the two of you together!!!
