m 4 year old son was givin fulcithalmic cream he has conjunctivitis in both eyes he was givin this ccream on the 10/03/07 his eyes are a little red. today he has swimming with his nursey would it be ok for him to go???????????

he should be at the swimming pool at 12.30 today i honed the doctors who gave him the cream and been told to phone back at 11.40 witch is leaving it a bit close to time...thank you for your answers so far.its good to get answers really fast and they are all sensable ones to thanx

i will be there at his swimming so if he had problems i can take him straight out

I would recommend double checking with his pediatrician about the water but pink eye (aka conjunctivitis) is highly contagious.

No i wouldnt think so coz conjunctivitis is VERY contagious, and also the chlorine might irritate his eyes even more. Also in Nursury there tends to be lots of germs and bugs around so its better to be safe than sorry for the sake of your son.

why dont you keep him in for a while please because swimming in chlorine will not do any good to his eyes,wont hurt to miss one class.Talk to the teacher to set a day for him to practise what he misses out when his eyes get better.Please be sure you are there to see that hes okay
