Is this true - this is not a question about whether he had children or not. This is a question about this particular link some christians appear to be making. Are they claiming that all sex even within a marriage is sinful - because how does that work alongside 'go forth and multiply'?

I am confused was sex so 'dirty' that the messiah couldnt lower himself to it because it would cast the shadow of sin over his holyness?

You are referring to ideas that come from Augustine of Hippo, a 5th century Catholic theologian. He was at one time very sexually active but then realised the error of his ways but swung to the opposite extreem of being anti-sex. He taught that original sin, the sinfulness that people inherit from their ancestors, was passed from one generation to the next through sexual intercourse since lust was involved. The exception was Jesus who was not conceived through sexual intercourse (and the virgin Mary, whom Catholics think remained a virgin all her life, despite being married, and who was conceived in the womb herself without sin - the immaculate conception).

the bible clearly says the "bed" is undefiled in marriage.
God created sex and ordained marriage.
He also commanded men to be fruitful and multiply.
however he likewise said that fornication and sexual immorality is a transgression and a sin. Those who practice unrighteous sex will suffer consequences and will not enter the kingdom of God. unless they repent.
The bible says that the body is not created for fornication. But sex is definitely created for making babies. Families are made to protect and teach babies.
Sex is only 'dirty' in the context outside of covenant marriage.
And Yes i beleive jesus was married. There are 2 possibilities of the names ofhis children. Tamara and Judas.
There are 5 possibilities of the names of wives that he couldve had. mary and elizabeth and susanah and johaness. i forget the other. There is also a possibility that jesus had another son named John. But churches wont teach this because they dont know about it. But historical manuscripts teach these things.
The bible does say that after having sex, a couple should give themselves to fasting and prayer. There is a hint of uncleanness in being found to be carnal in lusts of the pleasure of sex.

The fact that you shouldn't marry or have children to be sinless was just false crap stated by the Catholic Church. The Bible states no such thing. Believing in what the Catholic church says is a mistake, for they invent many new beliefs. Become a born-again Christian. The Bible doesn't state any such thing. In fact, it states that you could not marry(if you want only) if you wanted to follow a life of God, so that you won't have to worry about taking care of family. However, marriage and having children is important as God made man and woman together(Adam and Eve) and he bore children through them(Cain and Abel). There fore, it is God's will you marry and have children, which makes you holy. About sex, having sex is absolutely not a sin unless you rape or commit sexual assault.

Complete detachment from worldly pleasures demands that even in the midst of them, no attachments to them, and hence no favoring them over God can in any way occur. To favor the temporary over the Eternal is the very nature of sin, so if this is not done, then no sin has occurred, but even this is not allowed if it causes another to sin, even by the faint whisperings reaching their minds, who is not equally detached. The latter is even common in marriage, and pretty much all-pervasive outside of it.

I do not believe Jesus married and had children simply due to the needs of promoting a healthy movement amongst mankind to develop freedom to love God in various difficulties without burdening anyone but those who chose.

In the modern age, with speedier communication, the standard of Jesus well known, and ease of travel I believe this suggestion of Jesus, though in no way a binding command, has been abrogated in favor of marriage in order that children worthy of the Kingdom of heaven on earth might be reared.

Some reasons for this are my own learning and experience in life, and from the insights from the source below.

God bless.

Although Christ was not married, there would be no change in His sinless nature should He have been married. Anyone that is telling you different misunderstands the nature of Christ.

The bible admonishes those called to serve God in a full time capacity that it is best to remain celibate so they can dedicate their entire lives to their calling. This in no way implies that being married or that sex within the marriage is somehow profane to God.

Christ live as a celibate simply confirms the advice given above.

this is one i've never heard - that sex is sinful within mariage. Jesus's sinlessness did not really have to do wiith sex, but rather the lack of human involvement period. His needs were much larger and for the greater good. He would not have had the ability to date, hang out,m get engaged, etc that come with the whole marriage and thus sex timing. He did not have the lustful thoughts, the thoughts of longing, etc for a woman -He had more pressing matters on His mind.
SO i have no idea who put the thought that sex was diry and that is why the Lord would not lower Himself.... but it's one i've never heard and trust me my folks tried everything to keep sex from our minds ; )

In Jesus' day, if you were not married with children, you were shunned from society as you were directly disobeying God's orders to "be fruitful and multiply". That said, Jesus would actually be sinning by being celibate contrary to popular belief, and thus he would not have near the number of followers he was said to have, because no one would dare risk their lives or reputations associating with an outcast.

Jesus was God in the flesh. He didn't come here to have sex. He came here with the purpose to save us from our sins. Jesus was and is perfect and sinless. Jesus said that you are to have one husband and one wife. What goes on between a husband and wife is not dirty.

No sex in marriage is sinless but Jesus didn't come to procreate but rebuild the broken relationship between man and god.
