I thought a woman gets married in her twenties. Why are there so many single thirtysomething women?

I'm not complaining just curious. I'm in my thirties and I found that there is a wide choice in women. Even my female college classmates are still single.Why? Are women getting married at older ages?

Yes, women are studying longer, and don't necessarily meet anyone in college, or they're not sure he's "Mr. Right".
I think the average age for getting married now is 28. Since lots of women get married sooner, it makes sense the a lot get married later (to balance things out)

People are living longer these days and women are no longer dependent on men in the same way as before, also even though there is more men in nearly all given societies until about 50 years of age, women want to get married when they have met Mr Right. I am living with a man at the moment but I am not sure if he is the right man to settle down with and have a family with. Some men are fine just for a short term but you know that they would not make a good father or the relationship would not work on a long term basics. You are a man and you are in your thirties so why are you not married by 30? did you know that 1 in 4 women are marrying younger men and in the 30s and 40s age group it is 1 in 3 women have a younger husband, and my boyfriend is eight years younger than me. I personally think that it should be men who should marry younger as they don't seem to live as long on average as women and they age quicker as they lose collagen in their skin at an earlier age than women do.

As Briget Jones would say. "It could be because underneath our clothes our bodies are covered in scales" On a serious note though isn't it 1 in every 3 marriages that end in divorce these days...probably the reason.

Women are power hungry and want to be successful before they settle down.
