Uh, five years? Yeah, he better know, and if he doesn't he needs to figure it out real quick. However, he has to want to or he wouldn't be with you this long. Maybe he is just having some doubts. I would suggest trying to find out what these are. Sit down and talk and just tell him that you are ready, it's been long enough and you don't think that it's fair for him to do this.

98% he is putting it off.
no money to get married is a worst excuse
he just doesn't ; want to commit to anything , he can stay in the relationship for even longer .without doin anything
don't wait for him anymore..focus on ur life now. go and meet more people . is just wasting ur youth if u keep waiting for him .
give urself a time limit
say i will give him another 6 or 8 months if he still can't commit to me ,fine forget it ! go any have some fun
if he into u , he will want to commit to u after a year or 2 .. and now is 5 years.

Five years is a long time. He is either afraid of commitment, or trying to find a way to shake you off. If after 5yrs he's unable to commit, he is probably not dying to spend the rest of his life with you.
Do you really want to be with a guy who's terrified of having to wake up with you every morning of his life?!?

Don't do like I did. I spent 12 years with a guy that I loved dearly. It came to the point that I needed to know when we were going to get married. When I asked him, he said never. (Of course this is not what he said years ago) I was a fool. I look back now and all of the signs were there. I just loved him so much that I didn't want to see them.
Don't let him string you along. If he doesn't know by now, he will never know!! Lose this loser, and find someone that really loves you.

Well take as long as you need if s/he is alright with it because it is a hard deccsion to decid to comitt your life with someone forever and i know my cousins have been dating 6 years and there just getting married it takes so long because you have to work out if u want to comit your life to this person and to find out if s/he wants to comit her/him life to u.oh yer im really sorry but the way u said it i dont no if ur girl or boy
