I have hopped all over the religious scale at various points in my life - from complete Athiest to church going Christian, in an attempt to find my comfort zone. I feel pretty secure in my beliefs now, and from my experiences, it seems to me like no matter who you are or what you believe, you feel persecuted by someone, at some point.

Do you feel any one religion or non-religion is persecuted more than others? Or do you feel that no matter what your stance your going be subject to debate by someone who disagrees? There is no happy medium is there? Lol*

I beleive everyone 'feels' attacked at some point,if they are challenged, but that is a far cry from persecution.
I actually looked it up,and over 120,000 Christians were martyred this year, along with others in Sudan. It's really quite sad.I know a few who have actually been persecuted. They are very brave people.

I have felt persecuted a few times for not being a Christian, but then again when I was a practicing Christian there were a few times I felt persecuted then, too. I don't think any one religion is persecuted more than others, although I'd say that Wicca and Hinduism are probably the most misunderstood or have the most misinformation about them (I have Wiccan friends and they themselves had to correct a great deal of misinformation and misunderstandings that I had about their religion...and Paganism in general....and as a practicing Hindu I never realized how much misinformation get spread about them and completely misunderstood it is by so many people). It isn't to say that people who misunderstand or are misinformed persecute these religions more than others, though, because that's not true. It's just that when they do persecute people who practice them they often say things that aren't true and look a bit foolish on their part (not that I'm saying that it's suddenly okay to persecute people only when your well informed....not at all, it's never okay to persecute). And you definately said it best "no matter what your stance your going be subject to debate by someone who disagrees." It is very true.

Great question!

Peace be with you.

AS a Jehovah's Witness its been made clear to me that all sects of
Christendom and all other religions feel threatened from our stance that there can only be one true religion and the criteria for this true religion is spelled out clearly in the Bible. We have a history of being persecuted even in the United States to the extent of being closed down and imprisoned for sedition in world war 1. We were even put into the concentration camps by Hitler and were the only group that could voluntarily leave if we pledged our allegiance to the Third Reich instead of our creator Jehovah God. It's curious that all religions have something bad to say about us, maybe because we draw attention to all false religion being under the direct control of Satan.

Christians have been persecuted since the Old Testament days, and yes, at times I do feel persecuted. I'm thankful that I don't experience the kind of persecution that so many do (especially in China, etc), but I know that the Bible says we will experience more in the days to come... sadly.

My being a Christian means that I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. However or whatever another person may feel about me or my faith has no bearing on it. I don't try to push my beliefs on others unless I am asked a question regarding them. I feel secure as never before & have gone through difficult times and times of happiness to reach that security level. Again, my relationship is a personal one with Christ, and while I am sure some people may take a negative view on me because of it, it just doesn't matter. I think there is a general mistrust in western countries for Islam because of its fundamentalism, but each individual has to confront their own demons. I've done so, am secured in it, and am happy with my faith.

I am a Christian and I get it from all sources, especially here in the San Francisco Bay Area where it's considered a sign of stupidity to believe in anything mainstream (except for Buddhism, which along with Atheism, is an official left-wing "religion".)

Ironically both Chrisitians and Muslims are more persecuted here in the U.S. than anywhere else.

I've never felt persectued. Definitely, I've felt confronted or challenged, but as for persecution... no one has ever tried to kill me for my faith. I'm a Christian, and I also believe that we can all learn from each other's beliefs - the positive aspects and the mistakes. So long as we think that our personal beliefs are exactly right and everyone else's are wrong, there'll be persecution and discrimination, whether for class, race, appearance, intelligence or religion... so maybe some humility would be good! :)

definite. Jehovah's Christian Witnesses are often verbally abused publicly and on occasion bodily abused, on occasion it particularly is meted out by technique of kin, even by technique of their spouses; incidents are actually not one off yet time-honored each and on a daily basis activities. fortunately that is in user-friendly terms a relative few who go through in the kin domicile, that is extra person-friendly to ensue at artwork or college, and the norm while ending up Jesus command to ''go for this reason and make disciples of persons of each and every of the countries....'' see Mathew 28: 19, 20. yet bear in concepts Jesus grew to become into scourged and nailed up for doing what we J.W's are doing so we are watching for it, you've gotten seen many derogatory, sarcastic, venomous and now and back hate-finished comments published in this website against us. it variety of feels to be that any one who has diverse non secular ideals or different modifications is open to 3 variety of abuse, extraordinarily unhappy that we can't be civil on the modern-day time.

I get persecuted by christians for asking questions most of the time.

I'm starring this, I think this is one of those "everyone needs to answer" questions that we need more of. Everyone else should star it too, I want more people to see this question.
