http://scriptures.lds.org/en/john/14/21#21 see verse 23 also.
moses saw god face to face and shrank because he thought he would die. the israelites said the same thing but the nobles of israel clearly saw God, even his glory. But what if a man was once worthy like king saul, or was it solomon? who saw God twice. and yet afterward backslid and he no longer was able to live for God or live life to the fullest in the flesh. Truly a man who sees God has very little desire to sin, but sin is death, and death doesnt mean instantly?
Can it be that this other verse is also traditionally misunderstood?

Another possible interpretation is that Jesus often accused the city of jerusalem and its ancestors who killed the prophets who were sent by God. Apparanlty, if all the prophets were murdered by evil men, than it would be true if ANY of them saw God They didnt live long. They were probably stoned for their testimony.
