Be thankful to be underweight than over darling. If you're that desprate, then eat more fruits, vegetables, meat and drink a lot.

You shouldn't let BMI tell you what's wrong and right, so good for you. If you think you're underweight, there are a couple things you can do. One would be to ask your doctor next time you see him. But in the mean time, lifting weights and eating more healthy snacks between meals would be a good way. Don't just scarf down junk food, but get down something that you can make muscle (nuts, whole grain bread, apples, yogurt, etc.) from all that weight lifting you do. Weigh yourself every couple of weeks or so, and adjust your plan accordingly to keep yourself at a gradual weight gain.

Unlike other people who've posted so far, there are a lot more health risks associated with being ten pounds underweight that ten pounds over weight. While there's nothing clearly wrong with being 10 pounds overweight (it may be hard to say that you are 10 pounds overweight), things start to happen after you drop below a healthy weight. Mainly, if you suddenly get sick, you might take a very long time to recover. I knew someone who got knocked out by the flu for 6 weeks because she was really small and just got too weak.

here's my story:

age 13: 3'11", 100 lbs
age 14: 4'0", 115 lbs
age 16: 5' 10", 115 lbs
age 30: 5'10", 150 lbs

Basically, the main lesson I learned is that you have to eat a large meal before you sleep.

However, I just discovered I have a disturbance in my pituitary gland, so that might have affected my growth in puberty.
