I would say from 38 years old for women. But even after that you have a big chance to have a perfectly normal baby. If the risk is 1:100 to have a child with a Down syndrome at the age of 40, then 1 child out 100 will have that disability but the rest 99 will be okay. So it's up to you to risk it or not.

Well starting at about age 35 the risk of down syndrome increases along with other birth deffects. At 40 and older you are considered high risk. My aunt had twins at 40 and they had no problams.with close monitoring by your obgyn I would say it whould be okay up to your mid 40s.

not sure but i believe its 36 and older! but the older the women is the more complications she might have! i have read each year increase the risk of a baby to have down syndrome! sad i know..but thats life

I am not for sure. But I think they label you a high risk pregnancy if you are 35 or over.
