She is not doing anything that she believes is wrong. She was taught this by her mother, when the mom kept the nest clean. When mom became too overwhelmed to keep clean after all the litter, the pups were good little helpers and did it themselves....They didn't have gloves and bags, so just did it the way they could. She is just being fastidious. Scolding for it will only confuse her. She will not get the point, and you will have a insecure and traumatized dog...The reason that she leaves part of it, is that it is just too much, but she is doing the best she can to clean her own mess..
Dog's ancesters have done this for eons, to keep their area clean and to not let predators know where they live. It is as natural for them as hand washing is for people.
The only solution is to consistantly beat her to it. Hopefully she will learn that you can be trused to clean it up so she doesn't have to.... Meanwhille, there is an additive available at all pet supplies that will make the stuff very bitter.(Forbid) This may help some... Also putting a few pieces of pineapple in her food will do the same..
Note: the ones that do this are usually the easiest to house train, as they are good house keepers

Some puppies continue to do this throught to adulthood as well, there really is nothing you can do to stop it apart from cleaning up after the dog straight away. There can be a number of reasons why they do this and a lot can be psychological.

Young pups need constant supervision to keep them out of trouble, take her out to the loo and clear up straight away.
You can try adding a pineapple chunk to her food, it contains an enzyme called 'papain' which is used as a meat tenderiser. If it works, it either makes the droppings unpalatable, or helps her digest her food.

Hi, ours dogs did this for a while - we put pinapple in thier feed as apparently it makes their faeces taste bad so they won't eat it! It worked for our dogs! Also i found that giving our dogs try food instead of tined meat helps alot!

I think she's needing vitamins and some protein that's why she's doing it. I'd ask a vet to check her out or maybe you could try puppy or dog food that's high in vitamins like Iams. But I do understand that they do because they are lacking something in their diet.

Puppies do this because they can & because they like it. It's disgusting to us, but nothing to worry about. Hopefully, she will grow out of it but all you can do is add a small piece of pineapple to her food & clear up after her straight away. Don't let her see you are clearing up, put her away while you're doing it.

I'll venture a guess its a small breed ,possibly with poodle/shih-tzu type background.{Common prob with those breeds}
Usually caused by a enzyme deficiency that can be helped with a daily vitamin.
