The best view would be from The View Lounge in the Marquis Marriott Hotel in Times Square; it's more than 50 stories up and rotates a full 360 degrees every hour - you can't beat the view. The drinks are expensive - but, if you're interested in the best view, stop here for a drink - check the other bars in the hotel - they all have good views

Don't go to the Marriott. It is the BIGGEST tourist trap. Instead, go over to the meatpacking district and go to the rooftop bar at the Gansevoort Hotel. Now , that is a view!!!
